The Speedmaster Tapered Surf Line is a high-performance tapered monofilament main line designed for surf fishing. Available in three taper options, the thickest part of each option is 0.57mm (16.70 kg) to handle the most powerful casts, and the heaviest weights.
If you've only used thick monofilament for surfcasting, using a tapered main line like the Speedmaster Tapered Surf Line has the potential to transform your casting performance. With a strong front end to absorb the initial impact of the cast, the main body of the line is much thinner, reducing friction. Another advantage over using thick lines, or a thinner main line with a line bass, is the absence of a knot, which reduces potential problems during casting, or when fishing on undergrown shores where algae can get caught in the knot.
